Would you like to get a better understanding of key sustainability challenges and opportunities in India and/or Bangladesh? Would you like to strengthen your work with ESG issues in South Asia? Or do you want to explore export of sustainable solutions to the South Asian industry?

We invite you to join this exciting seminar which brings together experts and advisors from India and Bangladesh to dive into the potential of both markets to advance ESG/sustainability issues, market sustainable solutions, and gain competitive advantages.

In the seminar, you will learn more about:

  • Main trade and sustainability challenges in South Asia

  • Key opportunities within water, circular economy, energy, and tech

  • Market outlooks: Regulatory, political and trade conditions

  • ESG readiness of suppliers (in relation to EU legislation)

The themes covered in the seminar will be sector-agnostic and the aim is to open a dialogue on the potential of advancing ESG/sustainability issues and export of sustainable solutions in South Asia. The seminar will be divided into two sections: one on India and one on Bangladesh.

You will also get an opportunity to book a short meeting with the sustainability and value chain Advisor from the Trade Councils in India and Bangladesh to explore potential areas of collaboration. You can indicate your interest via the registration form.

The seminar is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.

Background

South Asia (1.6B+ people with growing middle class) is rapidly emerging as one of the most important markets for sustainable technologies. India, with projected GDP growth of 6.3% in 2025 and expected to be the 3rd largest economy by 2030, and Bangladesh, the world’s second-largest textile exporter with a fast-growing consumer base, present unique opportunities for Danish companies.

Both countries are increasingly prioritizing renewable energy, water and waste management, energy-efficient industrial upgrades, and sustainable production. For Danish companies, this represents not only a chance to take the lead in exporting sustainable solutions, but also to integrate the markets into value chains and establish production on the ground.
